As far as the viral aspect...

The web is the great equalizer in many ways.  Money does not rule completely because opportunity cost is minimized.

On a side note:

I think things like OpenCourseWare and the new High School focused version can contribute to a real paradigm shift in the world as a whole.  I am glad the powers that be have not tried to keep that within the borders the way they did with encryption, processors, super-computers etc.  *gets off the soap-box*

Check out nano-ionic memory when you get a chance...1GB converts to about 1TB?  Woo!!

Another contributer to a possible paradigm shift when you begin to think about what it can do within the next two years for nearly the same cost.</description>
