David, another great avenue for entrepreneurs in Saint Louis is Entrepreneur's Organization. Saint Louis has one of the largest and most active chapters.

In addition, we are also one of the cities running an EO Accelerator (http://accelerator.eonetwork.org) program. This is geared for entrepreneurs who have businesses between $250k and $1m.

Cheers,
Matthew Porter

Mr. Storm,

I am a huge advocate of Idea Bounce and have started a website and radio show for those entrepreneurs in the St. Louis area looking for help. The site is businessonthemound.com. The show is based out of SIUE and is hosted by me a young student and entrepreneur. I let the business or idea owner share their business and allow them to ask questions to the listeners for help. They can also ask the readers on the ste for help in a certain topic. I have a large network that I use as resources to also help any guest on the show. If you would check the website out and give me any suggestions to improve the site. Thanks.

One of my readers writes:
Meanwhile, Maryland is imposing Sales Tax on Computer Consulting Firms. From 0% to 6% in one fell swoop. We'll see whether it lasts, and how many businesses move to Delaware or Virginia. Not sure about DC.

One commentator said that instead of the tax, just slash all incubator assistance to high tech firms to save the same amount of money. That way, at least businesses already in MD won't get killed by DC and VA firms that don't have to pay the tax.
