David, this is why almost all electronic devices have "off" buttons. You may not have used one in a long time, so here is a little reminder to help you find it: usually it is marked with a circular symbol that has a vertical line running through the middle. Often it is red, and/or illuminated. When you press that button, it will have the salutary effect of bringing you back into the real world.

As a bonus, the button has a dual function of bringing your virtual life back online once the weekend is over.

The guys at Netcraft remind me about their toolbar:

http://toolbar.netcraft.com shows the month & year their web site was first seen by the Web Server Survey. Time in business is a good authenticator on the web, more so than in ” meatspace”.
